MNKINO 48-HOUR KABARET
First ever Kabaret for the Minnesota cell of International Film group, KINO
Minneapolis, MN MNKINO, one of the few US cells of international experimental video laboratory KINO, is throwing its Kick-Off 48-Hour Kabaret on July 23rd, 2010 through July 25th, 2010.
Participants have a 48 hour period to brainstorm, shoot, edit and present their video results to the public. Like MNKINO monthly screenings, the Kabaret is open to any and everyone, regardless of skill or supply. The idea is to collaborate and experiment with skill, vision and technical resources with others to create one final product.
Throughout the 48-Hour work period, participants will be encouraged to work in the official MNKINO Kabaret Lab, which will be located within the West Bank Social Center (501 Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis. Space above the Nomad World Pub). The lab will be open and monitored throughout the entirety of the 48 hours and groups can bring their equipment and set up to work directly following the Kabaret Kick-Off screening on Friday, July 23rd.
No Group? No Problem. Individuals that don’t have a group, and want one, will be matched up with a group after the Kick-Off screening. No Experience? No Problem! Kabaret’s are a great opportunity to learn the art of making short films! Just show up to the screening and we will match you up with a group.
MNKINO is a monthly excuse for anyone to make a film, and to meet others who like doing the same. It’s not just for film school graduates, MFA students, or videographers. Since its launch in July of 2010, MNKINO participants have created over 80 short films.
